Stephanie Holbrook began her career in her hometown of San Francisco, working at Nancy Hayes Casting and providing local casting for such films as Jade, Murder in the First, Angels in the Outfield, A Walk In The Clouds and Mrs. Doubtfire for 20th Century Fox. After moving to Los Angeles in 1995, Stephanie joined the casting team for the pilot and first season of the television show “The Practice,” then “Roseanne” and “Arliss” for ABC and HBO.

While in L.A., Stephanie went on to spend a few years as a junior executive at Twentieth Century Fox, first in Marketing for Fox films on Pay TV worldwide and later at FOX.com as the Talent Producer for the Studio’s website. During that time, Stephanie produced groundbreaking online chat events with X-Files Creator Chris Carter, the casts of several FOX hit shows, such as Ally McBeal and Malcom in the Middle, and such mega-stars as Destiny’s Child and Britney Spears.

Missing the creativity of Casting and fulfilling a lifetime dream of living in Manhattan, Stephanie relocated to New York City in the early 2000’s. There she expanded her experience to include theater, casting a Rogelio Martinez off-Broadway play called ‘Learning Curve,’ directed by Michael Sexton. Her theater casting credits also include a new play written and directed by “Third Watch’s” Anthony Ruivivar, as well as readings for the Vineyard Theatre.

Early film casting credits in NY include work with esteemed Casting Director Ellen Chenoweth and Susie Farris on Mike Newell’s Mona Lisa Smile. Stephanie also worked with CD Pat McCorkle on the first season of the TV Series “Chappelle’s Show” for Comedy Central.

Finding a creative haven collaborating with CD Douglas Aibel, Stephanie’s focus became film, and she was Associate CD with him on The Life Aquatic, Trust the Man, Failure To Launch, We Own the Night, The Squid and the Whale, and Margot at the Wedding, as well as the Kenneth Lonergan film Margaret. Stephanie was Casting Director on M. Night Shyamalan’s The Happening, having previously been Associate CD on The Village and Lady in the Water. Aibel and Holbrook continue to co-cast and are currently working on a project in development, Preservation for Actor/Playwright/Filmmaker Christopher Denham. They also cast the completed film WildLike for Writer/Director Frank Hall Green (Exec Produced by Christine Vachon).

Independent Casting Director credits include Marc Meyers’ film Harvest, Jan Schuette’s Love Comes Lately, David Ross’ The Babysitters, Daniel Schechter’s Goodbye Baby and his Supporting Characters, which premiered at the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival. Stephanie cast “Bar Karma,” the first scripted series for Current TV, and a feature film released Summer 2012 called Backwards (starring Sarah Megan Thomas, James Van Der Beek, Margaret Colin, Glenn Morshower). She cast Alan Brown’s Private Romeo, whose entire cast won Best Actor at HBO’s Outfest. Also for Alan, Stephanie cast Superheroes, attached Krysten Ritter, Ari Graynor and Brian Geraghty to Audrey Hepburn’s Neck, and cast his most recent, Five Dances. Stephanie cast the independent film SPAZ, starring Pilar Lopez de Ayala, Adrianna Barazza and Spencer List, for writer/director Steve Clark.

Stephanie continues to collaborate with CPlus Pictures, having cast The Lifeguard, written and directed by Liz G. Garcia, which premiered in Dramatic Competition at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival and starred Kristen Bell, Mamie Gummer, Amy Madigan, Martin Starr, Alex Shaffer, among others. Also for CPlus and director Eytan Rockaway, Stephanie cast psychological thriller THE CONFINES. Stephanie cast LIFE OF CRIME (again for writer/director Daniel Schechter), starring Jennifer Aniston, Tim Robbins, John Hawkes, Yaasin Bey (Mos Def) and Will Forte. Stephanie cast film Greater, based on the true-life story of football player Brandon Burlsworth. Recently cast JANE WANTS A BOYFRIEND, starring Eliza Dushku, Louisa Krause and Gabe Ebert. Finished 2013 with the film WEBCAM, starring Ashley Benson.
